October Newsletter 2019

Dear Military Vehicle Enthusiast: Wednesday, October 16, 2019
The fall is our very busy time! I have been so busy keeping trucks running and displaying, I haven’t had time to write. It was a great time at the Graves Mountain Lodge Hill Climb, followed by the Somerset Steam and Pasture event, followed by Field Days of the Past, followed by the America Legion 100th Anniversary, and followed by the Beaverdam Heritage Day event. A big thank you to all those who participated and helped! The M-20 has not been in the garage for over six weeks. Somebody said that we did five events in six weeks. A special thanks to James Boykin, Dabney and Cathy Cowger, Fritz Eley, Rob White, and Stan Sitzman and Mary Maguire. Additionally, we donated $500.00 to sponsor Nicki White’s run in Washington D.C. with the Marines on October 27. Additionally, I sold a few more models from the Gagnon estate and we are making significant progress in our VFW building project. So far, we have our Wetlands delineated, have hired a building contractor and have a professional engineer drawing up the site plan. Recent court rulings have been in our favor (Thank you Donald Trump) so we may be able to use more of our own property.
In addition to the usual fall onslaught of Christmas parades (Ashland, Mechanicsville, Richmond, Powhatan, and New Kent), we have a sponsored event (we get paid), the NAPA Dealer Show, November 23, 2019 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center (1610 Coliseum Drive, Hampton, VA 23666). We will be moving the M-20 Friday morning and they are putting us up in a hotel Friday night. The event runs from 9 am – 9 pm Saturday. We will be staying in the hotel Saturday night and moving equipment home Sunday morning. We do not need additional vehicles, but your presence would be helpful. Please let me know as soon as possible so that we can make hotel accommodations.
